Clan Torraven — The Watchful Raven

“Watch Well. Stand Ready.”
The Torravens trace their beginnings to a small watch post overlooking the lower road. According to family legend, a raven’s sudden alarm woke the first watchman as raiders approached through the mist. His warning saved the nearby households, and the bird became their emblem.
The watch post grew into a modest stone tower. Around it gathered herders, craftspeople and families who valued safe passage more than grand promises. Torraven scouts earned a reputation for sharp eyes and an excellent knowledge of tracks best left off a map.
Chief Fergus Torraven now claims that his ancestors maintained Greywater Ford when nobody else would—and that maintaining a crossing gives a family certain rights.
Elspeth, whose provision baskets travel between both households, remembers when the ford brought neighbours together. She suspects the present trouble began with something smaller, and more embarrassing, than either chief admits.
