These models together depict a town gas works. Which works well in any industrial or railway adjacent setting.

The Retort House was where coal was heated in ovens (Retorts) in order to extract town gas. The model includes a detailed interior with representation of the retorts. One of the ovens is open, with space provision to fit an LED.

The Gas holder was used to store the town gas before it was metered out to local users. The kit is able to built in a way that it can be set at a verity of heights. The kit includes the walkway and framework parts.

The Condensers were used to condense heavier oils out of the gas, this made the gas cleaner to handle and the condensate was also a useful product. The model has plenty of details from the valves to the catwalks.

The Gas Scrubbers were a series of filters that would remove any solid particles within the gas, water would be sprayed in to aid with this process.

Do the Models Come Painted and Assembled?

All our products are supplied unpainted.

Most figures are printed as a single piece and do not require assembly. However, some larger or more detailed models—such as wagons and cannons—may be supplied in separate parts and require minor assembly.

Preparing Resin Models for Painting

These recommendations apply only to resin parts purchased from us. We cannot guarantee that they will be suitable for products supplied by other manufacturers.

  • Gently wash all parts using lukewarm water and washing-up liquid. Do not leave them soaking.
  • Avoid using hand soap, as some contain lotions or moisturisers that may interfere with primer and paint adhesion.
  • Allow the parts to air-dry completely, away from direct sunlight.
  • Carefully sand away any visible print lines or support marks, as required.
  • Fill any small pinholes or surface imperfections with a suitable modelling filler.
  • Wash the parts again to remove any sanding dust, then allow them to dry completely.
  • Apply a suitable primer before painting.
  • Paint using your preferred modelling paints.

Warped Parts

If a part arrives slightly warped, carefully warm it in hot—but not boiling—water until it becomes flexible. Gently reshape it, then place it in cold water to help it retain its corrected shape.

Do not attempt to force a warped resin part back into shape while it is cold, as this may cause it to snap.

Tacky Parts

Very occasionally, a resin part may feel slightly tacky. Wash it as described above and allow it to dry completely. Once dry, place it in direct sunlight for approximately 5–7 minutes. Do not leave it outside for an extended period, as excessive heat or sunlight may cause warping.
